Vanessa Lenz Neithardt was born and raised in New York City. After receiving a BA in Sociology at the University of Vermont and honing her photographic skills during her elective studies, she returned to NYC and started working for acclaimed rock photographer, Michael Halsband. During her four-year apprenticeship with Michael, she gained invaluable experience as camera assistant, studio manager and darkroom technician.

She went on to work for Martha Stewart Living as a staff photographer adding digital photography to her repertoire. There, she photographed many portraits of Martha Stewart as well as various assignments for the magazines and publishing projects.

In 2004, Vanessa branched out to create her own company, Vanessa Lenz Photography. Her work has been published in numerous magazines, books and websites. In 2009-2010 she collaborated with Calypso in showcasing her personal work from India in their stores throughout the country. The same year she also completed the photography for the book, Kennedy Green House by Robin Wilson.

Vanessa continues to live and work in New York City.
